This version of GameMaker (GameMaker Lite) is Shareware. It may be freely distributed as long as the entire package is kept intact and unmodified. You may NOT bundle GameMaker with commercial products without written permission from Al Staffieri Jr.
If you create a game with GameMaker, you must pay either the $10 single user fee or the $59 site license fee which allows you to make unlimited copies for use at a single location. You may then create as many games as you like and distribute them to anyone without owing any additional fees. You will also be sent the full version of GameMaker which has more cards, more sounds, invisible buttons that you can put anywhere in the picture, an optional status bar, and other improvements. ----- KNOWN BUGS -----
* When using a paint tool, if you drag the window part of the way off the screen and paint in the portion of the window that is still showing, any part of the picture that is off the screen will be distorted.
* Activating a screen saver while importing or pasting graphics can cause the graphics from the screen saver to be placed in the Graphics area.
* GameMaker has problems when encountering a full disk. Always keep a backup copy of your document and make sure there is plenty of room on the disk.
* There is a approximately a 16Mb limit for GameMaker projects and applications. Creating a project that is larger than 16Mb can cause GameMaker to crash.

Programming, documentation, graphics templates, and most icon designs are by Al Staffieri Jr.
Graphics templates were created using ClarisWorks 2.0 and 2.1, SuperPaint 3.0, and MacPaint 1.0.
The source code for some Beta versions of GameMaker was created on a Macintosh Classic and Performa 550 using Microsoft QuickBASIC 1.0. It was later converted to Staz Software's FutureBASIC II using a Macintosh Performa 638CD and Performa 6320.
Other programs used in the creation of GameMaker include ResEdit, TeachText, SimpleText, and Al's Tools.
